Strawberry Cream Cheese Tart

Here's a beautiful recipe to share with those
you want to show a little extra love this
Valentine's Day!

It's a cross between strawberry pizza
and strawberry shortcake,
so let's just call it delicious, ok?

The combination of almond shortbread crust,
creamy filling and tart strawberries
make this a scene-stealing dessert.

Happy Valentine's Day, lovely friends!

Strawberry Cream Cheese Tart

Begin with the crust because it has to
chill for an hour!

Mix together:
6 Tablespoons softened butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract

In a separate bowl combine:
1 and 1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Gradually add dry ingredients to wet and mix
until you get a firm dough.
Cover the dough and chill for an hour
(don't forget to sneak a taste- AMAZING).

For the filling mix:
2 (8oz.) packages softened Cream Cheese
1 cup powdered sugar

Chill in refrigerator until it's time to assemble!

Rinse and slice strawberries.
Cut the green tops off and
slice until you can't slice no more.
You need about 3 and 1/2 cups sliced berries

After an hour, roll out your dough
on a floured surface.
I like to put plastic wrap on either side
of my dough to keep it from cracking!

Place rolled dough into a
greased tart pan (10.5 inches)
or greased standard glass pie plate

Bake:
18-20 minutes
350 degrees conventional oven
330 degrees convection oven

Generously spread cream cheese filling
in the cooled shell.

Now for the fun part!
Thickly layer sliced strawberries around the
outer edge of the tart and work
your way in.
Don't be skimpy!

Chill for 30 minutes.

For the finishing touch-
Homemade Strawberry Sauce

In a small saucepan combine:
1/2 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup smashed strawberries
Stir together over medium heat until
it bubbles and begins to boil.

Remove from heat and cool
to room temperature.
Spoon sauce over assembled strawberry tart.

Keep it in the fridge until you're ready to
treat your valentine!

Slice generously and sprinkle
with powdered sugar.

Enjoy and don't forget to share!

you are loved
